Each year we love seeing your smiling faces at the BAM! Festival – our annual, free book and music festival for all ages. At BAM! 2024 members of our community can celebrate books and the authors and illustrators that create them through author readings, book signings, and more. See the schedule below to plan your day at BAM! Festival.

Boogie Boogie Y’all Bookwalk

C.G. Esperanza

Take part in this interactive book walk featuring creator C.G. Esperanza. Reading this well-crafted picture book brings the musicality of the text to vivid, rhythmic life. Live walk with the author/illustrator or walk alone at any time during the event.

Get Published: The BAM! Flash Fiction Challenge

Enter this free writing contest for a chance to come back to BAM! Festival 2025 as a published author! Author Stephen Kozan will start you off with a few writing warm-ups to help get you on your way to enter the flash fiction challenge. One entry will be selected as the winner, and the winning writer will receive the opportunity to craft, edit, and publish a book with Mr. Kozan’s own publishing company!

Illustrator Smackdown

Cheer on some of your favorite authors/illustrators as they compete in a kid-judged, live-action drawing competition where you help decide what masterpieces our experts will create. As a bonus, learn more about their most recent books and what makes them tick! *Illustrators will ask the audience for examples when drawing–what character to create and the stories they would be in.
